Members tslonige Posted January 5, 2013 Members Report Posted January 5, 2013 I would like some insight on how well leather branding / heat stamping works. I need to stamp basket weave pattern on drum dyed, chrome tanned, black 8 to 10 oz leather. It has a slight hair cell grain on the finished side. It is pliable and can be used to make motorcycle bags, mud flaps etc; I have looked at commercial electric branding irons and hot foil stamping machines but would not use the foil. I am new here and hope the many years of experience on this forum can help me. Thank you Quote
electrathon Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 I have a hot foil stamp machine and it works great without foil. Dampen the leather, press in for about a half second and it looks great. Quote
