29-4 Treadle Base

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have a 29-4 base they want to get rid of or trade. Or do you know of any other vintage style bases to hold a cylinder bed machine?

Most cylinder bed machines used a standard heavy weight treadle base. The 29 series was different in that the left side was lower then the right.

An angle grinder and a bit of ad hoc engineering will get around the problem. The 29 base had two band wheels - smaller and much smaller - unlike a standard model. Some later models had a groove cut into the handwheel and if you use one of these you will reduce the speed.

I purchased a 29-4 machine a few years ago that had been motorized. At the time of purchase, I received a (as far as I know) complete treadle stand for it as well. It is in pieces, but I still have the box with all the nuts and bolts I received at that time.

Problem may be, it is in Alberta, and it is heavy. I will likely never make use of it and am open to offers.

You can also just get a stand. I got one for about 300 or so bucks with a new servo motor, its just like the stands the Cowboy 4500s come with. Its more versatile than a patcher stand. Because of this I now have a spare Adler patcher stand however I'm going to hang on to it in case I ever decide I want to set it up somewhere without electricity.

I've got a 29-4 complete with treadle that I bought to restore, but I never got around too it. I'd part with it if you're interested. I'm in western WV.

That should fit. I don't have an extra though. I'm going to list a base for a long arm Adler. Had a 29-4 on it but the 29 was mounted to a board and the board to the base. Send these guys a pm to see if they still have the. If not check feebay,
