Members Natalie O Posted February 4, 2013 Members Report Posted February 4, 2013 Hi everyone. I just finished a belt for my uncle. It was my first one. Let me know what you think. Thank you for watching. Quote
Members whiteeugene Posted February 4, 2013 Members Report Posted February 4, 2013 Great job I like how you Incorporated the rope. Quote
Members EquusCustomLeathers Posted February 4, 2013 Members Report Posted February 4, 2013 Looks great Natalie! Love the colour you chose. Quote
Members SmokeCigars Posted February 4, 2013 Members Report Posted February 4, 2013 I've been trying to get the little rope stamp forever! Tandy never has it when I'm at the store. I thought it could be a cool border tool, but the way you used it looks really cool too. Quote
Members Natalie O Posted February 4, 2013 Author Members Report Posted February 4, 2013 Thanks everyone! Smoke cigars, that tool gave me some trouble until figured the right angle to make a straight line. I got this tool online. Maybe you can get there easier. Quote
Members Cyberthrasher Posted February 4, 2013 Members Report Posted February 4, 2013 GREAT JOB NATALIE!! All that persistence has paid off. Looks like you're even getting the hang of the edge burnishing Quote
Members Natalie O Posted February 4, 2013 Author Members Report Posted February 4, 2013 GREAT JOB NATALIE!! All that persistence has paid off. Looks like you're even getting the hang of the edge burnishing Thanks! It was tough still not perfect though. Quote
Members Cyberthrasher Posted February 4, 2013 Members Report Posted February 4, 2013 still not perfect though. Hey, if you ever think it's perfect, go find a new craft to master. No sense in continuing if you already know it all Even masters still learn all the time. Good thing I already know your a perfectionist who nit picks yourself more than everyone else does. It takes one to know one. Quote
Members David8386 Posted February 4, 2013 Members Report Posted February 4, 2013 Good job Natalie, it came out very nice. David Quote
electrathon Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 What I like about this is that it is a very simple/clean design. And it looks good. Aaron Quote
Members rscow Posted February 5, 2013 Members Report Posted February 5, 2013 I have been stymied by the darned rope stamp. I think your use of it was excellent. But I really like the fouled anchor. As an old sea dog type I need to incorporate that into my repertoire. Well done! Roger Quote
Members Natalie O Posted February 5, 2013 Author Members Report Posted February 5, 2013 Thank you everyone for your encouraging words! Quote
Members Feraud Posted February 5, 2013 Members Report Posted February 5, 2013 I reallly like the placement of the rope and anchor. Did you use an antiquing to set off the design or is it just the dye? Your uncle is going to love the belt. Quote
Members KingDominoQ Posted February 5, 2013 Members Report Posted February 5, 2013 Awesome belt, I must agree with the previous comments, the rope looks friggin sick. Anchors aren't exactly my cup'o'tea but lines look clean. Overall clean design great success! Quote

I used a gel from eco flo. The color was ''tan'' Quote
Members Feraud Posted February 5, 2013 Members Report Posted February 5, 2013 Your technique worked, it looks wonderful! Quote
Members Widget Posted February 5, 2013 Members Report Posted February 5, 2013 I too love the design. I love the "Sailor Jerry" anchor at the billet end....did you carve that or was it a 3D stamp? If it was a stamp, do you remember where you got it? I'd love to do some nautical stuff for some friends of mine that sail on a tall ship... Quote

Members Widget Posted February 6, 2013 Members Report Posted February 6, 2013 Hey Natalie, Thanks, I'd love a copy. I sent you a PM with my email address...thanks again. Quote
Members billymac814 Posted February 6, 2013 Members Report Posted February 6, 2013 Looks great, putting a small tooling on the billet is a very unique idea, as is the rope down the center. Quote
