Tree Measurements

Recommended Posts

If a cantle can be ordered in a 3x1.5x13, what exactly does that mean? I assume 3 would be height and 13 is probably width. What is the middle number?

Also, how do you choose the gullet height when ordering a saddle?

And what can you tell me about different styles of bars? I am looking at Bowden site, and they make their trees with Arizona bars. What other kinds of bars are there?

Any really good links to differnet tree and bar info? I clearly need tree education. Thanks in advance!

Hey Stef!

Rod and Denise Nikkel are long-time members of this site, and are tree makers in Canada. If you go to www.rodnikkel.com, the site has a whole section on "Understanding Tree Measurements." These folks are really helpful and they make fantastic trees.

Hope this helps,

Mike

Guess Bruce hit "SEND" a little quicker than I did!
