Members 4Speedfury Posted February 24, 2013 Members Report Posted February 24, 2013 Hi all, New member and first post. I have been sewing for a relatively short time and have made a few upgrades to my machine stable. The latest one is an industrial Husqvarna Nordic 27-10. I have learned its limitations though. No walking foot. Now that I am getting more serious with my sewing, I need to get a better machine. I have seen several 2 needle compound feed walking foot machines (Singer 112W140, 145) at a fraction of the cost of a single needle machine. Is it possible to convert from 2 to 1 needle? Thanks! Members Les No6 Posted February 25, 2013 Members Report Posted February 25, 2013 Just remove one needle and its associated bobin on lock stitch machines. Quote
Members Gregg From Keystone Sewing Posted February 25, 2013 Members Report Posted February 25, 2013 By model number, Singer 112W140 is a needle feed, drop feed machine, not a walking foot. And, if you do use it as a single needle, keep in mind the limitations of not being able to use cording or welting feet with it. Quote
