Pip Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 i have recently been given, before the great crash of 08 a italian leather mask which has some rain damage and appears to have a very thin outer varnish layer. It is a repair job, what should i use to fix it? Carnuba cream? Quote
Ambassador leatheroo Posted January 20, 2008 Ambassador Report Posted January 20, 2008 hi pip, when you say rain damage, do you mean it has lost its shape or the color has faded or run? Quote "]http://leatheroo.blogspot
Pip Posted January 28, 2008 Author Report Posted January 28, 2008 it has a kinda crispy white/clear surface where the rain has contacted with it, like fine crystalised salt and faded colour. Quote
Ambassador leatheroo Posted January 28, 2008 Ambassador Report Posted January 28, 2008 i wonder if it got salt water on it, the only thing i can think of is just a wipe with a damp sponge and then retouch the color. If the seal has broken down to give the crystal effect, i am not sure what to do. Quote "]http://leatheroo.blogspot
