Members CollinsMS Posted September 6, 2008 Members Report Posted September 6, 2008 Hey everyone a little different twist for me. This sheath is 3 layers of leather at the actual sheath part. The belt loop is on continues length of leather that makes the 3 layers. The stitching was done on a Tippmann with thread to match leather color. Hope you like it.Sorry other Pic did not load Quote
Members BradB Posted September 6, 2008 Members Report Posted September 6, 2008 That looks really nice, I would not have known that was stitched on a machine if you had not told me, it looks like really good hand stitching to me! Quote
Members Spider Posted September 9, 2008 Members Report Posted September 9, 2008 Wow this is a nice sheath. I love the curve. Quote
Members HollerBornCustoms Posted September 9, 2008 Members Report Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) Nice looking sheath. I love the idea of using the middle layer to make the loop. I just made another attempt at a sheath for one of my knives and just used one pieve of folded leather. I like the look I got, except for not having a smooth side showing for the belt loop. I'll try that on #3. Really like the trianglular design, that's the same thing I did on mine, I think it has a neat look to it. Edited September 9, 2008 by HollerBornCustoms Quote
Members CollinsMS Posted September 9, 2008 Author Members Report Posted September 9, 2008 To get everything to fit like I wanted I cut the top leather first that way I could establish the curve. Then I basically cut a belt that was wide enough to accommodate the top leather. I did the sewing and then took the head knife and trimmed everything to the top leather so it matched perfectly. This also gave me a strong loop for the belt and put smooth leather on both sides of the sheath. Glad you like it. Quote
