Members kevlar34 Posted June 5, 2013 Members Report Posted June 5, 2013 I've been tinkering with making holsters for about a year. I thought I'd post a few pics and open it up for any feedback or suggestions. I've sold a few on ebay but haven't been able to crack the code to do that consistently; lots of views and watchers but only random bids. Quote
Members potatoeman Posted June 5, 2013 Members Report Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) It doesn't seem to me that quality or workmanship is an issue; those holsters look solid and well made. Maybe it's marketing, pricing, or some other factor ....? Edited June 5, 2013 by potatoeman Quote
IngleGunLeather Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Overall, not a bad piece of gear. However, I'd suggest cleaning up the stitching. I noticed on one photo that it had the appearance of having the stitch holes drilled out. I'd recommend not doing that and get a diamond point punch if you're still hand stitching. Quote
Members kevlar34 Posted June 5, 2013 Author Members Report Posted June 5, 2013 Thanks for the advice country trash, I am hand stitching so drilling holes makes the sewing easier but obviously effects quality. I'll try one using an awl. Quote
Members goodfella Posted June 9, 2013 Members Report Posted June 9, 2013 try doing gun shows on the weekends ebay is not the answer need to be around 30- 35 range Quote
Members kevlar34 Posted June 9, 2013 Author Members Report Posted June 9, 2013 goodfella - I have came to the same conclusion with ebay. I did a good bit of research on what holsters are listed and selling, mostly cheap, generic, one size fits all. Going to give the gun show route a shot. Quote
Members vhakra Posted June 17, 2013 Members Report Posted June 17, 2013 (edited) Maybe make a website or an Etsy store with business cards to pass out at gun shows. You also might want to talk to your local gun store as well. Maybe they'd like to sell your work. Edited June 17, 2013 by vhakra Quote
