Leather Bum Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) Where does everyone get their belt buckles from? Does anyone know of a supplier for high-quality belt buckles? I've been looking for where to purchase roller buckles I can use for 1" and wider belts (1-1/2" work belts for example), but I do not want any made in China or someplace like that (I'd really actually prefer them to be made in the US). Any help with this would be appreciated. L'Bum Edited September 9, 2008 by Leather Bum Quote

They look awesome as belt buckles. As far as where they are made, don't know. Quote
Members Kevin Posted September 9, 2008 Members Report Posted September 9, 2008 I mostly use Weaver's hardware. I think most of it is made in China. Unfortunately, the US companies don't seem interested in keeping up any quality. I don't know if the molds are too old and they won't invest in new ones or what, but most of the high volume items I used to buy were pretty rough. I'm sure there are some exceptions, but I haven't found them for what I need. Kevin Quote
Members celticleather Posted September 10, 2008 Members Report Posted September 10, 2008 Don't know how far afield you want to shop for buckles, but there are a number of suppliers in the UK who have English-made cast brass buckles. Some that I have used . . . http://www.leprevo.co.uk/index.html http://www.abbeysaddlery.co.uk/ http://www.berbo.co.uk/page3.html . . . Berbo are situated just north of London, and actually make cast buckles on their premises, but they may only supply in large quantities. I guess shipping and taxes may bump up the prices, but they may be worth a try! Quote
Leather Bum Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 (edited) Thanks, everyone, for the responses so far. Here's a site that was brought to my attention, and perhaps others here might find it useful: Buckleguy. It's apparently operated by the International Advisory Service company as a means for people to buy smaller quantities of some of their products (exactly what I was hoping for ). However, I've been informed that the buckles are unfortunately made in Asia. L'Bum Edited September 10, 2008 by Leather Bum Quote
