Members panku82 Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 I've only been working in leather now for about 2 1/2 months and I've tried my first feather cause a friend wants it on her saddlebag.... I'd appreciate any helpful critiques to make this thing better, especially the downy puffs at the base of the feather (how to make them look "puffy" I guess is what I'm lookin for there .. lol) Thanks Tim Quote
Members EquusCustomLeathers Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 Looks pretty good so far. I'm no expert, but I would either bevel the puffs a little deeper, or maybe use a lifter on them to get them "poofier"..there are quite a few people here that do feathers beautifully, so maybe they will chime in. Hope that helps, and welcome to LW Quote

Members RavenAus Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 Not really done any feathers so can't help there, but I will say this - you've got some mighty clean bevelling there! Smooth as, mate Quote
Members All4Christ Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 Yes I also like the beveling. Very nice. Looking forward to the finished work. Quote

Members Mannamal Posted July 6, 2013 Members Report Posted July 6, 2013 Perhaps a hairing tool instead of swivel knife decorative cuts. All in all though, they look like feathers, I dont think anyone would be disappointed receiving those! Quote
