Members pshiflett Posted July 14, 2013 Members Report Posted July 14, 2013 Really great, how did you do the dye on the edges? I like how it blends. Quote
Members TaurusSeats Posted July 14, 2013 Members Report Posted July 14, 2013 Very nice! What machine did you use for stitches? Quote
Members paris3200 Posted July 15, 2013 Members Report Posted July 15, 2013 Very nice. Did you create the pattern yourself? I'm looking to make a saddle bag similar to the bag brooks challenge tool roll, but have no experience with bags at all. Quote
Members Solofalcon Posted July 15, 2013 Author Members Report Posted July 15, 2013 Thank you everyone. To answer some questions: 1. For the coloring of the bag, I used Fiebings dye applied with an airbrush, SaddleLac as a resist to maintain the blue and green on the logo, dark brown gel antique stain, and then white acrylic paint for the lettering. 2. The stitching is all done by hand. I don't use a machine for any of my work. 3. I did make my own pattern, using other bicycle bags of similar style as a reference and following the wisdom in the Making Cases books as a guide. Quote
Members Nappers Posted July 17, 2013 Members Report Posted July 17, 2013 Awesome bag Solofalcon! I would love to do that for my mtn bike! Another idea! Quote
Members Mikexd40 Posted July 18, 2013 Members Report Posted July 18, 2013 So cool. Way to go! I really like the coloring and attention to detail. I made a duffle similar to a handlebar bag. Yours looks much better Quote
