I am thinking of getting a Techsew 2700, 0r 2800. I attached pics of a couple of bags that I have made(hand sewn). My question is, will these machines do this sewing?post-36139-0-61679700-1375149298_thumb.jpost-36139-0-68592500-1375149357_thumb.jpost-36139-0-18118400-1375149380_thumb.jpost-36139-0-32633900-1375149400_thumb.j

How thick si the leather? What size thread is that?

Leather is 6-9 oz. Thread is the waxed nylon that Tandy sells for hand-stitching, not sure of the size. Sometimes my bags are 3 layers thick in places, so thickness could approach 3/8"

A Techsew 2700 or 2800 will be pushed to the limits of its ability sewing the thicknesses that you are talking about. The machine will not be able to handle the thickness of thread that you used on our bag. You can use the machine if you don't go thicker that three layers and if you use a lighter thread. If you want to sew as heavy as that and more, I would suggest a heavier machine.

2 layers of 6-9oz should be fine however adding a 3rd layer would be pushing the machine a bit beyond its capabilities as a medium weight machine. The next step up would be the Techsew 5100 which will have no problem whatsoever sewing your bags.
