wolfe9 Report post Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) A guy has one for sale , he is asking $1000 , I couldn't find any information on line for the model A . Does anyone have any idea what one is worth , he says its in good condition . I know they went out of business around 1972 and parts are like hens teeth , I have seen others sell for about the same price but that doesn't always mean they are worth it . Trevor Report post Posted August 28, 2013 Hi there Wolfe.I looked up and found a picture of a Model A and it looks OK. I think you mean "HYDRAULIC clicker model A USMC" . It has hydraulic oil and its got two hand operation. That's good so you don't cut off your hands when clicking. Good luck
wolfe9 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 It is hydraulic but United shoe machine company called them hytronic model a,b ect maybe because it was electric & hydraulic , at least that is my best guess with limited research .
Trevor Report post Posted August 30, 2013 yeah that would seem to make some sense. The switching of the press is done using the handles that have little "micro" switches in them. Did you end up getting the press ?? or at least going to where its at and trying it out before you purchase?? I would certainly do that at least. Check the cutting height and the head height before you start. Good luck TRK "way down Under" Just found this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u32amY5PPxg
