Members SergioVO Posted September 4, 2013 Members Report Posted September 4, 2013 (edited) Hello, I am a beginner here about to make some leather harnesses and suspenders, I need some advice regarding where to buy good quality hardware such as 15mm button snaps and durable rivets that are flat on both sides. The leather I will be working with is black oiled latigo. Thank you! Edited September 4, 2013 by SergioVO Quote
Members SergioVO Posted September 4, 2013 Author Members Report Posted September 4, 2013 These are the kind of rivets I am looking for. I looked on http://www.buckleguy.com/ but couldn't find anything similar under rivets. Does anyone know where I could find these for sale online? Quote

raysouth Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 Hello Sergio, Give Ohio Travel Bag a shot. They have a large catalog and may have what you seek. God Bless. Ray Quote
Moderator Art Posted September 6, 2013 Moderator Report Posted September 6, 2013 It is hard to tell without looking at the other side, but I would venture to say they are burr rivets. The one on the bottom looks like it has been "domed". This is done with a special setting tool from Bob Douglas through Vandy at Sheridan Leather Outfitters. There are about three sizes of these copper rivets, some available at Tandy, but Weaver is a really good source for them. There are also ones made of solid brass, also available at Weaver primarily. The brass ones are a bugger to set but they have a rounded head so you don't have to dome them. Also check with Kevin at Springfield Leather as he will have most of this too. dirtclod Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 They look to me like their regular double caped rapid rivets. Springfield Leather has nickle over brass ones and the domer tool. Quote I'm old enough to know that i don't know everything.
