can i dye a snake skin?

Hi, i'm new here so maybe this question has been covered before and i just haven't found it yet. but i would like to know how to dye a snake skin, and what type of dye should i use? not long ago i bought a whip snake skin off of ebay, and it had been dyed on both sides a deep red color which turned out very nice. if possible i'd like to try adding some color variety to the snakes around my area (i'll make sure they're dead first). thanks for any help offered.

I am new at leatherwork also but have dyed some python skin and sealed it ,it looks great and so far wearing well.

can you tell me what kind of dye you used, and what did you use to seal it?

you said it's wearing well, did any of the dye rub off during use?

hi ken the dye i used was feibling red and used eco-flo super sheen as a sealer.I wore my vest all summer and never noticed any color leaching but i wouldn;t wear anything white against it just in case.I hope this can help u.What kind of snake are u going to dye?Let me know if it works out for u.
