badLoveLeather Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 Recently I moved my studio. AGAIN. Too many moves over the past few years. Now Im in a garage with no AC and its been hot here in Ojai. So the heat the hasn't been kind to my glue pot and I ran out of thinner. So I dumped the half rubber barge out and decided it was gonna be a good time to clean my glue pot. The photos below illustrate my pain. Glue Can 0 Leatherworker 1 Can't wait for the heat to go Quote
mlapaglia Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 Nice work, How long did that take and how many beers? I have to commend your tenacity. I would have tried to clean it then thrown it out and bought a new one. Well done sir. Michael Quote
Members b2k Posted September 7, 2013 Members Report Posted September 7, 2013 holy cow, the first photos shows a facehugger egg, not a glue pot! My sincerest compliments, I would have set fire to the thing in frustration! :-) Quote
badLoveLeather Posted September 8, 2013 Author Report Posted September 8, 2013 Took me about 30 to 40 minutes, No Beer. Monster Energy drink. I used my Barry King Hammer and a screwdriver. Got more Barge and thiner today in LA Quote
badLoveLeather Posted September 8, 2013 Author Report Posted September 8, 2013 Oh and BTW your responses made me laugh guys. Thanks! That endeavor in other times may have caused me to toss it. I gave away the other clean new glue pot a few years ago. Amazing what necessity pushes us to do. Right? Quote
Members Andrew Chee Posted September 8, 2013 Members Report Posted September 8, 2013 I don't like those Teflon glue pots. The plastic ones with the long stem lids work much better at keeping the cement from drying out... Andrew Quote
