papaleather Report post Posted September 11, 2013 Yep, I accidentally left my IWB holster clipped on my jean shorts while doing laundry and found it in the washer when I was putting clothes into the dryer. I let it air dry and it seems fine except the 'finish' now seems a little dull. Mind you, it isn't an expensive holster so I am not worried that I made the mistake but I would like to know what I need to do to protect/refinish the leather to help it maintain its integrity for future reference in case I have a more expensive holster that may get wet or submerged. Thanks for any advice or recommendations.
camano ridge Report post Posted September 11, 2013 There are many products out there that will work and as many opinions as to what is the best. I personaly like Montana Pitch Blend or Skidmores Cream both are natural products using Bees Wax natuaral oils and Montana Pitch blend uses pitch in it's blend. Both of these will put nutrients back int the leather of your holster. They will both help the leather be water resistant. Skidmores has one blend that is called leather waterproofing and is primarily Beeswax I have not tried it although I regularly use the skidmores cream and found that it defenitaley makes the leather water resistant (I have not tried prelonged imersion).
