kellysomer Report post Posted September 20, 2013 Hello, i am very new to this forum. I have just started training with a master saddler in the UK and have been practicing my saddle stitching. What i would like to know is rearding the last step of the stitch, when the second needle has been passed through the leather and the thread is wrapped around it to form the 'knot' does it matter if you wrap it towards you or away from you? Does either way produce a better slanted stitch?
mlapaglia Report post Posted September 20, 2013 What matters is you do it the same way all the time. This make the best looking stitch. when you go one way on one stitch and then the other way on another it starts looking like its drunk. Good question.
