Members J Hayes Posted October 5, 2013 Members Report Posted October 5, 2013 Perfect your hand stitching and use it as a selling feature. I see all kinds of poorly "hand stitched" stuff on Etsy with high prices, and I mean so poorly stitched my 7 year old daughter pointed it out. Make your stitching and edging better than anybody else and point out your quality without pointing out the shortfalls of the competition. You should be able to sell enough goods to buy a machine or build your brand on your hand stitching. I have machines but when I have time to make my bag it will be hand stitched..... Keep at it. Members forbeskm Posted October 6, 2013 Members Report Posted October 6, 2013 Depending where you are, look for a design incubator. Denver has the Denver Design Incubator, they have free sewing on wednesdays! Not the largest selection of machines, but they have flatbeds, walking foots, sergers, etc. Look around where you are, I am sure you can find a contract sewer who you can befriend and get some time.
