Members tanda4 Posted October 14, 2013 Members Report Posted October 14, 2013 I order some of Springfield Leather's Police Bellies and they are THOUGH & THICK. How can I flatten these out a bit to be able to use a draw gauge? Quote
Tree Reaper Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 I usually tack the upper left corner down and strip the leather from the right side. Make sure you have a new or very sharp blade. Sometimes it's necessary to cut the leather into smaller manageable pieces. Quote
Members PutnamLeather Posted October 14, 2013 Members Report Posted October 14, 2013 I like to case the entire thing and lay it on a flat surface until it dries. You'll have to put some books in plastic wrap along the edges to keep them from curling too. Tacking it down sounds like it would be a lot faster though. : ) Quote
