Hi all. I'm in southeast KS, new to this site & relatively new to leathercraft. I grew up riding horses (before I could walk), later training horses locally, did short stint riding bareback in smalltime rodeos, moved to KS & worked for trailer conversion company building custom living quarters, also building horse trailers. Now I am able to devote time to my family & leatherwork!

Hi Andy, my name is Tim Lauts and I live in Atchison KS but born and raised in the sandhills of Nebraska . Thirty miles from North Platte in a small town, Stapleton. I understand that you are interested in saddles, have a good friend in Arthur Nebaska, one of the best in the country, Denny Rose of Rose Saddlery. Amazing to watch him work.

Hello Tim. Hello Robert. I will definitely check out Rose Saddlery- it would be great to watch/ learn more. I do work for a saddler nearby occasionally- mainly repair & small fabrication. And have a good working knowledge of their construction. Hope one day to build one completely. Thanks for the info Tim & for the welcome Robert. So glad to be a member!

Andy, Denny is quite informative, think you would enjoy a visit with him. Give him a call. I would like to have him here sometime to give a demo on carving. He is a blast to watch and a great teacher.
