Members cjdevito Posted January 14, 2014 Members Report Posted January 14, 2014 Happy to. I love the style he uses. I think the next big carving project I try will be along his lines. Quote
Members Early2rise Posted January 15, 2014 Members Report Posted January 15, 2014 Also, look at some of the older wall paper designs. Around the time of World War II there were some very ornate wall papers being used. Funny that they almost all had vines, flowers and leaves woven together but somehow did not have that western look to them?? Quote
Members Gregory Posted January 24, 2014 Members Report Posted January 24, 2014 I went to show the page of Baroque carvings to my wife- and it's gone. I sure hope it comes back online.. Quote
Members bluerider Posted February 7, 2014 Members Report Posted February 7, 2014 A lot of art nouveau designs translate well to leathertooling. Still floral yet decidedly non western. Quote
Members Avgvstvs Posted February 9, 2014 Members Report Posted February 9, 2014 (edited) I think a lot of Art Deco designs could be of interest for someone who doesn't want to go the floral or western way. Many of them are composed of abstract geometrical patterns and are really appealing and elegant. (edited a missing word...) Edited February 9, 2014 by Avgvstvs Quote
