Members Thornale Posted October 22, 2013 Members Report Posted October 22, 2013 Hi ! I've been in the leather-working for several years now, I was mainly crafting pieces for medieval re-enactment such as belts, pouches, shoes, armours, sword scabbards. But I want to do more (every day items, holsters ...), and share experiences with other leather-worker (I have some home made patterns for pouches and armor pieces that I will gladly share if needed). Outer the leather field I'm also into a lot of things including music, IT, home-brewing, Tabletop RPG and half a million of other things. PS : I hope my English doesn't looks weird. Quote
Members Django57 Posted October 22, 2013 Members Report Posted October 22, 2013 Greetings Thornale from fellow member living in Spain ,do you have some nice French tools I'm thinking the Vergez Blanchard tools they look wonderful but expensive. PS your English is better than my Spanish . Quote
Members Thornale Posted October 22, 2013 Author Members Report Posted October 22, 2013 I have a few of Vergez Blanchard tools, my leather supplier is a direct reseller. I have an edge beveler which is 4 years old now and I have sharpened only twice since I bought it. I also have several awls. Back then, if I remember well, the awls were about 6€ each and the edge beveler was 35€, but prices may have grown up since I got them. Quote

Members Thornale Posted October 22, 2013 Author Members Report Posted October 22, 2013 Here the knife I use : http://cuirschadefaux.com/catalogue/outillage/outils-de-coupe/article/tranchet . They are handmade by a French knife maker only for my leather supplier. It is very durable and allows me to cut easily very thick leathers (sole leather for instance). Quote
