Members JohnBoyLeather Posted October 25, 2013 Members Report Posted October 25, 2013 So, my friend just asked me to bring his grandfather's WWII leather bomber jacket back to life. The sleeves are dried out and the rest of the jacket doesn't seem too far behind them. Someone recommended Dr. Jackson's hide rejuvenator. Any recommendations? Also, there is a hand painted back piece. A pinup girl dropping a bomb on a bunch of swastikas! I'm so stoked about the jacket, and definitely wanna do the best job I can. Please let me know what you think would be the best product to use in bringing some new life into this piece of history. Thanks! Quote

Members camano ridge Posted October 26, 2013 Members Report Posted October 26, 2013 I suppose it is a matter of personal choice Dr. Jacksons is a Tandy brand I have some, however i prefer skidmores cream it is all natural. Some might reccomend using lexol conditioner first befor anything else. What ever you try try just a little bit in a out of site area. The main thing you are trying to do is get some nutrients into the leather. Quote https://www.facebook.com/CamanoRidgeCustomLeather?fref=ts
Members Effuse Posted October 30, 2013 Members Report Posted October 30, 2013 You might want to try something like Obenauf's Leather Oil, I've seen it work wonders for old jackets. Here is an image gallery of what it did for an old Deer Skin leather jacket. http://imgur.com/a/ifGkQ Quote
