I have made about 55 of these functional and decorative fireplace bellows. The tooled leather is inset into the wooden bellows and glued in place. I started by carving the images into the wood but found inlaying leather much quicker and easier to get in more detail. Very nice. I was just considering making myself one of these for campfires and those times I'm trying to hurry up the charcoal for the grill. Did you find a pattern, or make your own?

I made my own. I used, as a guide, a hand carved bellows I bought in Norway when I was traveling through there in 1984.
