Steve In SC Report post Posted December 26, 2013 I've been trolling around here for quite some time. Joined a short while ago and just now have the nerve to post... I've been into "creating" things since I was a teen many moons ago. Had many an art teacher and shop teacher guide me through the creative process. 24 years in the military separated me from a ton of stuff I've always wanted to do so I'm getting a late start on It all. Custom one-off heirloom furniture building is my dream. I'm still saving to build my shop so in the mean time, I am making knives and doing leatherwork. Having a blast so far. Quite challenging to say the least. I've made 2 machete sheaths, 3 smaller sheaths and have been searching for a decent handbag pattern to attempt. Carving has been fun so far. I will continue to hone the skills and post photos as soon as I learn how to do it. Greetings All!!! Steve in SC
Chief31794 Report post Posted December 26, 2013 Welcome Steve and thanks for your service. I did 21 and retired in 1990 (US Army Chief Warrant Officer Three, Retired) Post photos and people will be glad to give you friendly, courteous and good advice about how you might do things better, great way to learn. I wish we had of had a forum like this 45 years ago when I started, but then we didn't even have computers much less internet. Take advantage of it and enjoy your well earned retirement. Gotta' figger' out how to do the thumbnail upload I guess. Thanks, V/R, Steve in SC
