SACL Report post Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) After final dying and top coat application is there something more consistent to use to give a good final buff/polish? I was thinking of a bench top buffer with a polishing pad or even making my own pad out of 100% wool, cutting it in two inch rounds, stacking them 2 inches high and securing them into a mandrel (see pic) Then attach to my drill press? I don't know? Shoot me some ideas or should I just stick to the old cotton rag and elbow grease? Thanks in advance. However I have done Leatherwork for 40 years, all I have ever used is a piece of shearling to rub and buff the finish coat. An even polish will happen if you have an even coat of final finish.
