High Embossed Gator On Cow

Recommended Posts

I made a belt with gator on cow and within a week it has worn through under the buckle.

Is anyone else having this problem?

It is advertised as belt leather but I won't be using it again.

I don't know if my buddy's used it for belts or not, but he makes A LOT of wallets out of it with no problems.

I checked the buckle for a rough spot but it's clean.

This stuff makes a nice belt but it won't be much good if it wears that quick under a buckle.

That doesn't look good. Is it chrome-tanned? The stuff I was referring to is actual veg-tan in 5/6oz I believe.

I do have some of the light embossed stuff from Springfield that I've been using for a few things. Not a belt though. I can check it out and see if I can spot anything that might look similar. The stuff I'm using is 2/3oz.

This is the leather I http://springfieldle...b,Antique-Pink/

The buckle has a slight curve to it but it shouldn't be rubbing through the embossed surface within a week.

It only appears to be rubbing through on one side but it's the total width of the buckle.

I've already made several so I'm not too happy about it considering it is advertised for use in making belts.
