Members Nat1 Posted January 18, 2014 Members Report Posted January 18, 2014 Hi, I know that traditional leather workers and shoemakers have made their own glue in the past. I would love to have some recipes or tips for making my own leather craft glue. Hopefully someone has some direct experience in this matter. * I'm not talking about contact cement, obviously, but the 'white glue' which is non-toxic and is sufficient for temporary bonds or for holding materials prior to stitching. Thanks! Nathan http://soulpathshoes.com Quote
Members TomG Posted January 18, 2014 Members Report Posted January 18, 2014 As cheap as commercially made glue is, I'm not sure why you'd want to make your own, buy you might do an Internet search on a book called Dr Chase's Recipies. It's a free book if memory serves me. Quote

Myself, I'm more than happy to pay Weldwood for the development of their fine product. Quote
mlapaglia Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Flour and water is one way to make a paste. An egg white helps it too. Quote
