Members windcalmer Posted January 21, 2014 Members Report Posted January 21, 2014 So a bit of info on this. My buddy loves gryphons. His family crest has a large gryphon in it. So as a birthday present I did a gryphon crest for him. He is very into the heraldric stuff too which doesn't hurt. LOL It is only my third tooling project so far and my first bigger than 2 inches sq. Hope you guys and gals think it looks ok. If you have any pointers for better detail please share with me as I am still very new to this! Members capretta Posted January 24, 2014 Members Report Posted January 24, 2014 The only thing I could say is that the feathers could be textured a little differently to make them stand out as feathers. Did you see the other post here with the leather carved eagle? Other wise it looks sweet and your mate should love it (even if he has no freaki g idea how long it takes to make something! ) Quote
Members windcalmer Posted January 25, 2014 Author Members Report Posted January 25, 2014 Thanks everyone. Capretta: I am going to practice on getting the feathers better for the next one. I am doing a cover for the breastplate for a set of SCA armor for him. So with the larger peice I should have more room to make them look better.
