  1. Well done Joe, I'm sure she is going to treasure it - as will her sister when she receives hers
  2. Nice work. Really like the antler closure, enjoy seeing something different
  3. Welcome to the forum from the south west of blighty
  4. Thanks for the tip. Something else to try out when I find some time
  5. Welcome to the forum. That looks an excellent piece of work
  6. Welcome to the forum from Plymouth. From your name - are you up in Lancs? As you will be told frequently - the only daft question is the one you don't ask!

Hi Eccho & welcome to the forum
  9. Thanks everyone Welcome Eccho - never too late to start
  10. Excellent tooling Kevin, do put up pics when finished.
  11. Thanks for that, I will definitely give it a go sometime. Getting a consistent, repeatable finish would be so useful instead of my more hit & miss result!
  12. Nice work. My partner did some peyote stitch jewellery so I know how time consuming it is
  13. Really tidy job. You have to be very precise with a black & white colour scheme!
  14. Very good result for your first efforts, really like the colour. Being aware of your own mistakes means you will be able/willing to correct them next time. I'm with WScott - nobody will see my early attempts
  15. Nice & simple - I like it. At the risk of appearing stupid.................is Boot leather as it sounds? Intended for boot making? Or maybe a legacy of previous use? Bev
  16. After a slight hiatus (at least 25 years) I dug out my tools & the 1/2 side of 2.5mm Tandy leather I still had. A tad green in places & a little..ahem...firm, but it was still useable after a little TLC. I have only used it for projects that are "backed" - clocks, keyracks etc. & although a little problematic to cut it worked ok. So absolutely no need to throw away any leather any time soon Example of the old leather!
  17. That's useful to know Adam - always looking out for recommendations of reliable suppliers. Is that veg tan you have bought from them? Apologies to Caldorn for the mini hijack of his thread
