Slicknick Report post Posted February 9, 2014 Hey there guys, I received a set of throwing knives recently, and came to realize that these would make excellent boot knifes. I was wondering what the ideal way to make a sheath for one of these is, I think it'd just be a friction sheath to hold it in. The problem is, I'm not sure how I would design it so that the handle would be covered, without it looking awkward, since the bottom half of the blade needs to fit as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! The overall length of the knife (including the handle) is about 5.5 inches, and it's about an inch and a half to two inches wide. camano ridge Report post Posted February 9, 2014 I woould make a simple sheath cut the front and back the same cut a welt attach a belt clip to one side do tooling if any dye glue stitch and finish edges you have a boot knife. Here is a rough drawing should print out pretty close to actual size and give you something to work from. Because the knife sits fairly deep it should be secure yet present enough of the tang to draw the knife easily. The red dotted line is an alternate height for the sheath. Slicknick Report post Posted February 9, 2014 That's what I was thinking, that's a good idea. Maybe pop a few rivets along the sides there to lace through, depending on how it would be worn. I appreciate it man! Any other thoughts would be awesome, too!
camano ridge Report post Posted February 9, 2014 Do you mean eylets/grommets to allow holes to run the lace through?
