Hello Everybody,

I recently bought Juki 441, which is in quite great condition, its works very well and in perfect shape. I noticed, while using Biggest needle (NM 280, 28 Size needle), the needle start hitting with shuttle, it doesn't happens with small size. #Does anybody know, what is wrong with the machine?

I also noticed, when needle starts penetrating the work piece, the needle move towards right side ( within the allowable space in the center presser feet. Is it common with machine, which uses long needle?

Any suggestion to comment would be greatly appreciated

FYI, I used 19, 25 & 28 size needle so far.

Hello. Inmany Juki 441 machines there are different width spacers that move the Shuttle Hook closer or farther away from the needle depending on needle size. This could be your problem. The needle that you are using may not be a leather point needle and that can cause the needle to move rather than pierce. Steve

HI Steve,

Thank you of getting back to me. I sorted the proble. I had spacer made up of some plastic of thickness 0.5mm. This was causing the problem and I took it off and now it works great.

Thank you for the help and support

I would suggest you also check the needle bar assembly as you mentioned needle wobble. Does the needle bar wobble side to side? If so then remove the faceplate and you will see a small bracket that holds the assembly in place. This may need adjustment.
