Here is a cover for the handle of a 2d maglight I made. It was one of my first tooling projects. To attach it i used a light amount of leather weld to keep it from shifting and wanting to slide off. billy12_zps7027a19d.jpgbilly10_zpsf90ee64b.jpg

I like the design and tooling. Did you use a resist on un-dyed leather on the skull? What finish did you use? It looks quite natural.

i used super sheen on the skull to resist dye ( it is the natural leather under), the eco-flo coal black for the outlines of the skull and eco-flo briar brown for the brown. for the actual finish i came back with a light coat of super sheen buffed it and then a nice coat of fiebings aussie leather conditioner.

I have done a few of these with different designs, i will have to track them down to get some pics. thank you all for the kind comments, it always means a lot to get applause from other people who work with leather.
