Pounder Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 Hi: Been asked by a customer to make a mechanics belt. I have googled images and have a pretty good idea of what is needed and have gotten the buckles (thank you Zack White Leather) but I was wondering if anyone had any tips before I get started. For instances, does the buckle require skiving as other belts, what weight leather should be used to cover the buckle? As always I appreciate any help anyone can give. Quote
Members stanly Posted March 23, 2014 Members Report Posted March 23, 2014 I googled mechanics belt too: www.mechanicsbelt.com looks like there are two styles, since u ask about skiving yours must be the hidden buckle style not the double prong? As long as all it's doing is holding pants up I'd treat it like normal belt. Quote
