Members tailorsham1 Posted March 23, 2014 Members Report Posted March 23, 2014 I made these under the tutelage of Deana McGuffin in Albuquerque, NM in December. Spent two weeks with her in her shop. 80 hours later... boots! Wow... What a rush! If any of you are in the Los Angeles area, we're hosting a reception for Deana McGuffin next Tuesday, March 25, from 7-9 PM. She'll have some of her finished boots with her, along with samples of her work from beginning to completion. It should be a great time, and there is no cost to attend. Just give a call to register so that we know how many to anticipate: 310-450-4300. Russell Quote

electrathon Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 Cool. Can you do it again? I took a shoe class last summer and have two new pairs started, one child's shoes finished. Do it again while you are still excited. Aaron Quote
Members BondoBobCustomSaddles Posted March 24, 2014 Members Report Posted March 24, 2014 Very Very nice! On my bucket list is learning to make boots. Not sure I will ever get there though. Again, very nice. Bob Quote

King's X Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Definitely on my list to do. Before I leave Texas, I would like to make a set of boots where I tool the tops and help make the bottoms. Still waiting. Quote

I absolutely plan to do it again. I've gone so far as to purchase a Landis 12K, and am looking at a Landis Line Finisher. Just keep hoping one shows up closer to my coast... Those are SWEET! Thanks!
