Members s7nf Posted March 31, 2014 Members Report Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) Hello everyone! I want to make a leather axe sheath like the one on the attached picture But I don't how this pins (that are there instead of stiches) are called. Ebay link would also be helpful if linking is allowed. Then I would need the "male" and "female" pin on the strap. And last, I'm not really sure about leather. I can order pieces of 120 × 250 mm, thickness 2.2 mm (4,7 inch × 9.9 inch ) of vegetable tanned leather. The thickness seems quite right, it just that pieces are a bit small. Every other leather i see in the shops is too thin (or I don't know the right dealers for europe). Thank you for your help. Edited March 31, 2014 by s7nf Quote
Tree Reaper Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 The pins are rivets, buy the proper length and the tools to set them, the other is a line 24 snap, again the proper length required for the thickness of leather and the setting tools. Leather thickness usually goes by weight so you should be looking at 6 to 8 oz. which would be about 3mm. Quote
