Hello everyone!

I want to make a leather axe sheath like the one on the attached picture

But I don't how this pins (that are there instead of stiches) are called. Ebay link would also be helpful if linking is allowed.

Then I would need the "male" and "female" pin on the strap.

And last, I'm not really sure about leather. I can order pieces of 120 × 250 mm, thickness 2.2 mm (4,7 inch × 9.9 inch ) of vegetable tanned leather. The thickness seems quite right, it just that pieces are a bit small.

Every other leather i see in the shops is too thin (or I don't know the right dealers for europe).

The pins are rivets, buy the proper length and the tools to set them, the other is a line 24 snap, again the proper length required for the thickness of leather and the setting tools.

Leather thickness usually goes by weight so you should be looking at 6 to 8 oz. which would be about 3mm.
