Workbench Building Help

Recommended Posts

I need some advice about making my workbench. I have modified an old drafting desk to make it. The problem is that it's got a loud hollow sound when I pound on leather. My plan is to lay a thick layer of rubber on part of it and a bathroom counter top (don't know what the material is) over the rest. The current top is painted wood. Does anybody have any suggestions on attaching these materials to the wood?

An electric drill, . . . drywall screws, . . . goes together fast, . . . if it needs changed, . . . comes apart fast too.

AND, . . . you can beat it with about anything you want, . . . the screws WILL hold.

May God bless,

Dwight

Eventually I will replace it all with granite, the screw concept won't work for that. I was hoping to avoid putting holes in the wood top.
