Members Tallbald Posted April 23, 2014 Members Report Posted April 23, 2014 I have in mind making heavy duty men's billfolds from some of the beautiful oil tanned leathers I see for sale. I'd like to be able to permanently stamp the initials of someone in the wallets but don't know if it can be done. Would simple block letter stamps leave a lasting impression on oil tanned? Thanks. Members Glendon Posted April 23, 2014 Members Report Posted April 23, 2014 This is one of those questions where the answer is yes,if you want to put in the time, money and effort. Can you whack a stamp with a mallet and stamp oil tan, no. You would have to do hot stamping or leather burning, or another special technique that would make this kind of leather hold an image. You would be going down a path less traveled for sure. Quote
