Born and raised in Texas as well as my father who grew up loving hand tooled/crafted leather goods that passed down the love for it to me too. As much as he loved it and I love it...the skill was never learned or honed. Just a few weeks ago I purchased a small starter kit with a swivel knife and started going at it. All I can say is that I really really enjoy it. I think this will be something I see myself doing for awhile. I just hope I get as good as those pro saddlemakers.
