This is my second project using a stamp for anything other than a border.

6oz. Belgium veg tan, hand stitched at 7 s.p.i. with 5/18 waxed linen thread. Used a Sam Browne stud and covered the inner portion with a leather, protective button.

Nice job on that, Bob. Your stamping looks real good.

Looks like you have the tri weave down. Good edges on the case as well.

Now that you have heard from all the nice guys , here's my "honest" 2 cents woth.

I can see several places where you got off-track with the stamp which is very easy to do with the tri-weaves. You did good with your recovery, and going with the black finish was a wise choice since it conceals a lot. Your moulding and assembly looks top notch.

I suggest at your next go with the tri-weave that you:

1. Cement your leather with rubber cement to a non-stretchable backing, or use a heavy tape on the flesh side. Tools like the tri-weave will cause the leather to stretch if you don't and make it very difficult to keep on line with the design.

2. Use a muti-step process. As in pic one, I stamp a lighter pattern first to make sure all impressions are on track and lined up right. I then go over those..... stamping every other row to a uniform depth. I then finish up with the rest of the rows.

And the truth is that religion is nothing more than the lame attempt by largely ignorant people to

bring sense and order to a world that was beyond their comprehension. Once you see religion for the

delusional and superstitious artifact it is............... you will be free !

Hey ... thanks for that, WyomingSlick. Yeah, I put it in the ditch a few times for sure. Thanks for the tips and photos!

I will be giving the method you suggested a try, for sure.

Very nice looking case, no matter the woes that are potentially there,

I can't see many myself.

As slick states the Black is a nice ending for this job.

I have used blue painters tape on the back when tooling, and I have reservations there.

No matter, I like this case as is !
