Members jessica5802 Posted June 4, 2014 Members Report Posted June 4, 2014 I was wanting to make a leather valet tray but I want to do the ones without the edges put together with rivets and such. I have heard to wet form the leather, but do I need to put something hard in there to help the sides and corners hold there shape over time. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Quote

Members CTaylorJr Posted June 5, 2014 Members Report Posted June 5, 2014 Jessica, Do you have a sample pic of what you're after? As for "stiffening", a lot of that will depend upon the size of leather (weight), and the overall size of the tray. There are ways to harden leather after forming. Quote Charlie
Members jessica5802 Posted June 5, 2014 Author Members Report Posted June 5, 2014 Yeah I have this picture that I pulled off of Google. I know this is probably a store made on but I am on a few leather sites on Facebook and have seen a few hand made. I emailed the people asking but never got a response so I thought I would try asking on here. I was thinking last night that I may be able to make a form out of the kydex for the holster making and just glue and sew the leather around that. that way it would still be light weight. What are your thoughts on that? Quote
