a2jacketpatches Report post Posted June 12, 2014 I've been making my own using epoxy putty but they don't last very long and the process is tricky. I'd like to make good working dies once and for all then have them cast in brass or something to last forever or at least a material that could be easily recast a an affordable cost. Here's an example of what I'm embossing, they are only 3 inches wide and there's several different types I'm looking to make dies for.
camano ridge Report post Posted June 12, 2014 Contact Studio-N or Embossing Die company, I thing Blackriver laser might be able to do it as well. THey make dies out of derilin. THat will last for many ipressions. I belive there prices are reasonable. When you figure your time in trying to make them your self. WOrht contacting them to see if they can do what you want. Studio-N Report post Posted June 12, 2014 Actually, you may only have to change the substance you're using. Bunkhousetools makes his plates out of resin material. I have several of thier dies and they work well and I belive they will hold up as long as I'll own them. They have always been very nice to me, so I'd check with them on what they use or if he can cast it for you. -Nick
