Back Stitch Unraveling

How do I keep the last stitch from staying secure in the leather, using linen thread. I've asked this question before and still I can't get the thread to stay secure after testing it. If I take the two pieces and pull them in opposite directions the last two stitches come out.

Im thinking to tie a knot at the second last hole and push it in the middle, casting the thread twice and form a knot.

Are you pulling the thread too tight when you cut it? I backstitch 3 stitches, pull tight then let it relax before cutting the threads so they don't just disappear out t'other side again.

I backstitch 3 stitches tight and on the last stitch I cut flush and tuck it in w/ out glue. After a while it comes apart since a little bit of pressure pops the cut thread out because it is so close to the other side.

Wont the thread eventually just pop out if you don't put a knot or overcast? Has anyone tied a knot and hid it in the hole and had it work out?

I flush cut carefully with a sharp knife. I don't push the thread back into the hole, that seems to me to be wasting that stitch, you're almost asking for it to come free.

Brewers pitch and bees wax 50/50 mix by hand or melt i mix by hand it holds very good.

I've only had the back stitch come out once on my own wallet after a year or so but I back stitched two holes instead of three and cut flush. Use more wax on your thread? You could try tying a double overhand knot in between the layers.
