I made a replica of a Civil War cap box. These were used to hold the percussion caps that created the spark that lit the gunpowder that fired the gun. The fur inside was used to keep the caps from bouncing around or bouncing out.

Looks pretty good. If you make more and want the more traditional Finale like on the one I made below, let me know I have some on hand. You can also get them from Blockade runners and David Carrico Leather.

Thanks. I don't know if I will make more of these or not. If I do, I will keep in mind your suggestions about getting more authentic finials. I used a Sam Browne stud.
