Members clubshields Posted September 15, 2014 Members Report Posted September 15, 2014 Hi there: Can anyone steer me in the right direction to speed up the drying time on my veg tan leather production items. During the winter months it starts to take a bit longer and extends my production time into days. Thanks: Dennis Quote
Members Itch Posted September 15, 2014 Members Report Posted September 15, 2014 We heat with a wood stove here out in the sticks and works very well.. Maybe you need a box, light, and a fan ? Quote Quality leather goods www.captain-itch.com www.Tennesseeholstercompany.com
Members Treed Posted September 15, 2014 Members Report Posted September 15, 2014 I used some old wire shelving and cut them into about 18" lengths. I built a plywood box with door about 36" tall to hold them and cut a small hole in the back for a little ceramic heater. The heater draws air from outside and blows hot air into the box. The temp range is about 110 to 120.... I use it for short periods to heat and set the leather then take the items out and place in-front of a good fan....most drying is done with the fan.
