Edge Kote Vs. Pro Oil Dye

Hey guys, I've been painting my edges with the same Fiebings Pro Oil Dyes that I use for my projects and was curious about the difference between the Pro Oil Dyes and Edge Kote, I've never used Edge Kote so I have no experience with it!

Edge kote is more of a glossy flexible paint than a dye. About the best use for it is putting a finished edge on leathers that do not burnish well.

I stick to plain dye. I have found the edge coat to be too messy for me.

If you want to make a fine finished edge on something that doesn't burnish like thin chrome tanned stuff ... I recommend Tandy Pro Edge paint. It's made by Fenice in Italy. There are a couple of recent threads on it.

If you're burnishing thicker plain ole veg tan go with Hidepounder's tutorial:
