Members cleanview Posted October 13, 2014 Members Report Posted October 13, 2014 So....Doing my first inlay ...alligator behind the reinforcement piece .....all seems to be going well and after wet forming.....seems like the gator skin looks different ....could be not fully dry but wonder if dunking the holster may have got color on the skin. Do you put anything on the inlay to seal it before wet forming??? Thanks Quote Amarillo Texas bambamholsters.com
Members Shooter McGavin Posted October 14, 2014 Members Report Posted October 14, 2014 Depends on how your gator was finished. You would have noticed in your dunk water if the color ran off of the piece. Probably still just wet. Quote Zlogonje Gunleathers
Members cleanview Posted October 14, 2014 Author Members Report Posted October 14, 2014 No ...it is plenty dry by now.....really darkened the whole piece ....discouraging to say the least Quote Amarillo Texas bambamholsters.com
Members renegadelizard Posted November 1, 2014 Members Report Posted November 1, 2014 ive run into some caimen and ostrich legs that were glazed with some type of finish, and when wet it just sort of washed off..and got sucked up by the rest of the holster...always test your exotic to see what its going to do...did you air dry or oven dry?..i seem to have less color changes when i oven dry...
