GypsyWind Report post Posted November 8, 2008 Hello everyone! Greetings from Southern California My name is Eli and I live in my 21ft toyota Dolphin RV fulltime with my Beautiful partner Gwen and our kitten Mara, I have somewhat converted the back end of my RV into a very small unorganized leathershop for myself, where I now attempt to make leather jewlery and bracers and bracelts and ths such. Iv been interested in leather for about 3 years now, Someone Gave me about 100 lbs of scrap deer and elk skin leather and about 20 lbs of thicker leather. I had an art studio at the time for about 6 months and was in between vehicals. I had so much fun in thoes few months with all that leather, tearing all the deer and elk skin into strips that covered everything from bamboo peace pipes to photo frames to water bottles. My name profession when im in a place that I can utalize it, is Photography, but now im starting to think and hope that it will be leather for a large part of my life. Its Like im Addicted to it, the smell and feel of it, cutting it, making shapes, trying to get it all to work together, this stuff can do anything!! anyways, I Just wanted to say hello and a bit about myself and where im at with leather right now. someone just gave me my first two leatherworking books for my birthday this last few weeks, and I havnt been able to put them down. I attached 4 photos as well, The only ones i could really find right now (my 500 gig raid system is in storage lol) just a few bracers that I made when I had my old art studio and that box of thicker leather, a sholder armor piece I made for Burningman, and a new Pendant that I made last week. Hope that I can share and learn alot of information on here, and look forward to talking with all of you!
