rawcustom Posted January 20, 2015 Report Posted January 20, 2015 I thought submissions were due the 25th of the month? I will probably make this pattern regardless, it looks very functional. Quote
Members thefanninator Posted January 20, 2015 Author Members Report Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) I think I scrapped that idea. It was getting too complicated with all the extra ideas. Edited January 20, 2015 by thefanninator Quote http://www.instagram.com/fannintexas/
Members MonicaJacobson Posted January 20, 2015 Members Report Posted January 20, 2015 Oh good, I'm doubtful I'll get it finished by the 25th. Quote http://monicajacobson.com/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/TrimGoTrix?ref=si_shop

Members thefanninator Posted January 21, 2015 Author Members Report Posted January 21, 2015 I knocked out most of mine last Saturday. All that's left is to finish the edges. I'll be putting on several coats of Fenice edge paint. I used Spanish calfskin, Sokoto goatskin and Lin Cable French linen thread. Quote http://www.instagram.com/fannintexas/
Members Avgvstvs Posted January 21, 2015 Members Report Posted January 21, 2015 I realised I printed the pattern smaller than it should have been at a late stage of the project (I was sooooo pissed at myself). Decided to keep on going just for the learning process. To my surprise, everything fits in the finished wallet. Bills stick out a little of the pockets but that's not so bad for a project that was supposed to be doomed from the start. The oustide is vegetable tanned goatskin, interior is veg tan calfskin, both pre-dyed, sewn at 7spi with 332 satin linen thread (campbell's). So here it is: Quote

Then did it all again to the correct size.Love your veg tan calf interior. Nice work. Looks like you added some pockets too. Members Avgvstvs Posted January 21, 2015 Members Report Posted January 21, 2015 Thanks fanninator! If you haven't sewn your 'scrapped' wallet already and provided you haven't salvaged the leather yet, you might want to try to sew it really close to the edges and it could work perfect for you. My bills stick out but they are canadian currency, and they are bigger than US bills (by about 1/4 inch or so). I'm pretty sure the 'downsized' version would work out for you. Quote
Members MonicaJacobson Posted January 21, 2015 Members Report Posted January 21, 2015 Nice, you guys! Love the different goat and calf you guys used. Quote http://monicajacobson.com/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/TrimGoTrix?ref=si_shop
